Most sound systems used on scale railroad rely on a make-break contact system to establish the “Chuff” sound.  This system usually requires painting the back side of a driver with alternating painted and unpainted areas which wear off.  The wiper can cause groves in the back of the driver as well.  

Our easy to install, 4 or 6 solid brass cams, provide you with a way to have this feature and still have the drivers timed with the chuff.  They come for either the standard 3mm or 1/8” diameter axles, or we will custom design it for your axle size.

This package contains two solid brass half cams that are placed around a locomotive driver axle to form a full 4-cornered cam.  This is a replacement for the wire wiper in the driver that can wear a groove in the backside of the wheel after long use.  This sound cam can be used with sound systems such as Model-Tronics, PFM, Magoffin, etc.  Soldering these cams to the axle is recommended.  Full instructions are enclosed with each brass cam set.
